BEST PART of a french, sourdough, etc. but not sliced bread. My grandma always called it 'the bou' and i have no idea where that came from... i should find out. english call it the heel.
oh - i've caught t eating it too.
I'm with you, Jess. The ends are the best parts. They just seem "breadier" somehow. I suggest a Congressional earmark examining this mystery...
